~Family Vacation~

So, I have had a lot of people asking me about family vacation... how it went, what we did, where we went.  So here goes, I will give you the speed version with pictures, about family vacation.  Buckle down and get ready, it might be a bumpy ride...

We played lots of LadderBall...

Tori is really good...
And likes to celebrate.  hehe...  :)

Joe was playing around with his new camera all vacation...
He is really good and all of these pictures are taken by him.  :)

Ben and Rhiannon looked for shells on the lake shore.
There were some pretty good ones.

We feed the ducks!...

Norah loved the ducks.
Mom and Stephanie both took her out a lot of feed the ducks and she would always be smiling and laughing and talking away.  She would also eat right along with the ducks.  ;)
Isn't she so cute.  She looks a lot like Mom I think.

Daniel and Layton climbed trees...

Silly men.....

Hiking!
This was one of my favorite parts of the trip.
We went hiking on a trail that went up a "mountain" to a look out post of PK lake.
It was really pretty and we had a lot of fun.

Stephano... isn't she pretty.  :)                                     And they are CUTE!  hehe...

The newly-weds.  This is half way up...

We all loved this rock... I know weird.
We also took a family picture on it, but that is on Tori and Daniels camera and I don't have it yet.

You would never know, but Norah was falling apart during this photo...
I think she was really cold.  They had to leave soon after to get her back to the cabin.

My wonderful parents...
A very handsome couple.

This was at the TOP!  Joseph was not only good with his camera, but he was good at setting it up to take pictures, so we also have the pleasure of remembering Joe on this trip.

Daniel, Layton and Stephanie tried a prickly pear.  eewww....  :)

Daniel caught a duck.

Daniel and Layton threw a football around.

Photo Sessions!!!
Joe was kind enough to offer to take family pictures for anyone that wanted them. :)
He did a really good job on all of them.

-Norah-
She didn't know it, but she got her first photo session too.  :)

-The Brantleys-

-Mr. and Mrs.-

We played Croquet!...

And just for anyone who doesn't know...
the Whiting's are a little competitive.  ;)

And Layton and I really do love each other...  hehe.

We played partners since there were 10 of us.
I really enjoyed it.  Made the game even more interesting.
We did a ton of different combinations, but I think my favorite was married people together and then Stephanie and Joe.  It was interesting and fun watching how partners interacted.

~Family~

And lastly, Joe took a big family picture before we left.
It was really great fun and we are all hoping to do it again soon.
In my opinion, not a bad Christmas present.

Love to you all and don't forget to enjoy your family today, whether big or small.  :)

Monday Night Escapade

So, Monday night Layton and I went on an adventure!  hehe...  we decided to walk wherever our feet took us.  :)  Follow our journey and remember to have fun!
First, we walked to the park down the street from us.  Whenever we go to a park we almost always have to play.  I have a feeling that we will one day (Lord Willing) be the type of parents to have just as much fun at the park as the kids do.  :)
Next we sat on a blanket under a tree and read our book.  Layton and I have read together since we were dating... the first book we went through was Pilgrim's Progress and it was a lot of fun.  Layton is really good at doing different voices and accents which always keeps it interesting.  :)  Then we started going through Lemony Snickets, A Series of Unfortunate Events series.  I can't even begin to tell you how much we have enjoyed it.  The books are so funny and well written (but you have to keep your sense of humor).  But anyways, we split the reading and I do the main two girl voices and Layton does all the rest.  We are now on the 12th book out of 13 and the story is coming to the climax.  We are sad though that we are almost done with them... don't know what we will go through next.
We read chapter 3 at the park... Every book has 13 chapters, but the books get longer and longer as you go, so now the chapter get to be pretty lengthy, especially when you are reading out loud.
Layton has fun when I try to get a picture of us...
He definitely keeps me on my toes.  :)
He is such a blessing to me though.  How I love and enjoy a husband who likes to get out and have some fun.  We enjoy just going without a plan.  Keeps life interesting and fun!
This is a little random, but I just love feet pictures... This was while Layton was reading.  And don't worry... Layton does not have huge feet,  mine are just really tiny.  ;)

I don't have any pictures of where we went next, but we walked down Hulen and went to World Market.  Layton had never been and it is one of my favorite stores.  Layton got totally lost in the store and all the interesting things they have.  I love practically everything in there.  ;)  We walked out of the store an hour later with a dark green pillow for my living room with five big brown buttons down one side, a bar of soap that I fell in love with, and a wooden box that holds tea bags.
Next we walked down to our new favorite place... YOGOLAIT!!!!!  They are a frozen yogurt place, much like every other frozen place out there.  We love this one though... favorite so far.  The people that work there are really friendly too.
Layton loves frozen yogurt or ice cream... if ever he is down, I am sure to get him happy again with one of them.  :)  He got Salted Caramel frozen yogurt with fruit pebbles on top (he's had weirder concoctions).
I got Cookie Crumble frozen yogurt (which is like cookies and creme except with chocolate chip cookies instead of oreos) and Dark Chocolate frozen yogurt mixed together with Reese's on top.  :)  yummo!!!
We are happy with frozen yogurt!!!!!  The perfect way to end a very long walk...  :)

How blessed I am to have a husband that loves me very much!  What a wonderful time we have together.

God bless!  Have fun with the ones you love and go exploring your neighborhood!
